Power On the Go

It’s finally here again: the season of the year when we spend plenty of our time outdoors and on the go. For music fans, the arrival of springtime also fires the starting shot for the festival season. The right equipment is essential for these events.

Tents, sleeping bags, camping lanterns or digital cameras are indispensable, but there’s seldom an electrical outlet nearby to recharge your mobile phone - and who would want to travel without a mobile? Now you can be prepared for these situations thanks to the V-Man Power Pack. Like a mobile electrical outlet to put in your pocket, the V-Man Power Pack can recharge an iPhone’s rechargeable battery up to two times.

Which festivals are you planning to attend in the next few months? What sort of equipment will you be taking along? And where would you be glad to have some “extra energy”?

I always keep a flashlight in my backpack - footpaths at festivals are often poorly lit.

I bought a Varta 15min charger in 2005/6 and also purchased about 10 AAA and 10 AA rechargeable batteries. And to this day I am still using those batteries and charger. It is the single most value for money item
I have ever bought. Thank you for making a superior product that lasts and lasts. I even bought my 2 sons a charger and batteries for christmas one year, they have kids now and really appreciate them. Ps, it was half the price of other chargers on the market aswell. 10/10.

Chris Another eamxple. Wind turbines. Some of the biggest turbines operating in this country actually generate no net energy. Think about that! Wind turbine "farms" have to have fossil fuel powerplants, operating at idle, all of the time, just in case (HORRORS!) the wind stops blowing, which, as those of us NOT wearing tin foil hats, acknowledge happens on a regular basis. This being the case, you've got the backup powerplant sitting there running, just in case, and the wind turbines making very little energy, even when they are turning. If the wind blows too hard, they even shut down. The net result of all this, is that these wind turbines actually produce no net energy, because the backup plant just sits there running at idle just in case. Do you people see how INSANE this is??? Spend billions of dollars buying wind turbines from GE because they've agreed to support lefty political causes/campaigns, to set up "green" electrical generating equipment that doesn't actually generate ANY net electrical energy gain!Look, I understand that everyone wants a free lunch. An energy source that's totally clean, totally renewable, and doesn't require our economy's output and efficiency to get dragged down to the level of pathetic European laziness. But it's just not going to happen. Not now, not ever. The ONLY "clean" energy we should be focused on developing is IFR or other nuclear reactors that use spent uranium and other waste from older technology nuke plants for fuel, and in the process, reduce the toxic half life of the waste from 30,000 years to about 300 years. Or as I mentioned previously, continue to push the coatings nanotechnology that's been discovered toward commercial viaibility. Some of these technologies have the potential to reduce the friction between an engine's piston and cylinders by as much as 300%, reducing the need for internal engine lubrication, dramatically increasing fuel efficiency, etc. That is technology that we already KNOW works, it's just being improved. That is what our resources should be focused on. June 27 2010 at 4:49 PM rate up rate down
